Bluetooth headphones for your mobile phone 2022
No more tangled cables
The quote from Arthur Schopenhauer comes from: “Music is the melody to which the world is the text.” And if you think about it carefully, old Schopenhauer hits the nail on the head. Because at least as a music lover, you can hardly imagine a situation in life for which there is no perfect soundtrack. Whether during sport, in the morning during breakfast, after a stressful day, with love sickness or fidgeting in the club – nothing can express our mood better than the right song. And thanks to our smartphones, we always have it on demand.
The only downer: the headphones cables regularly develop into a tangled tangle of cables that has to be untangled again and again in painstaking detail before enjoying music. What also happens with pleasure: You get stuck with the cables somewhere again, which brings the listening pleasure to an abrupt end. Thanks to Bluetooth wireless technology, there is now a solution for this. Well-known electronics brands such as Sony, Bose, JBL or Samsung and Apple have developed Bluetooth headphones that put an end to the annoying mess of cables. Whether for listening to your favorite music, an exciting audio book or the latest podcast episode – wireless or wireless headphones guarantee a much more free listening experience.
Do you want to buy Bluetooth headphones or a wireless headset? What do you have to consider? We explain everything you need to know about Bluetooth headphones or wireless headsets, what their advantages and disadvantages are, how they work and which wireless headphones are the best.
Bluetooth headphones & headphones with cables in comparison – this is the difference
Anyone who has a Bluetooth headphone will only rarely want to exchange the wireless convenience of in-ear headphones and the like for wired headphones. Nevertheless, there are “disciplines” in which modern wireless gadgets sometimes still have to admit defeat to their wired competitors.
As is easy to see, Bluetooth headphones are unbeatable, especially for mobile, wireless use, because there is no need for any cables. Whether during sport, on the way to work or when shopping – in all areas of life that include movement, the wireless Bluetooth headphones are clearly ahead. And let’s be honest: the modern in-ear gadgets & Co. also easily win every style and coolness competition.
Sound purists, on the other hand, who want to devote themselves entirely to the sound of their favorite pieces, especially at home, are better advised when it comes to value for money with high-quality wired headphones such as JBL. But what speaks against it to complement your old cable headphones with a model of stylish new Bluetooth headphones for mobile use? There are few arguments against not doing this.
These bluetooth & wireless headphone models are available
The designation Bluetooth or wireless headphones only says something about the connection, but not about the specific design of the headphones or headsets. As with cable headphones, however, these include very different models of headphones. The following types of headphones with a Bluetooth connection are available:
In-Ears headphones: small earplugs that – as the name suggests – are plugged directly into the ear. Advantage: particularly easy to transport as it saves space. Ideal for sport. Disadvantage: significantly lower sound quality than with the other construction methods.
On Ear Headphones: Wireless headphone headphones that are not placed directly in the ear, but are placed on the ear through a cushion. Advantage of on-ear headphones: mostly handier than over-ear headphones. Disadvantage: easier to slip; sometimes a lot of sound escapes to the outside.
Over ear headphones: Wireless headphone headphones with larger pads that encircle the entire ear. Advantage: offer the best sound of all types of headphones. High wearing comfort. Good seal to the outside. Disadvantage: significantly heavier and bulkier than on-ear headphones or in-ears.
Which type you ultimately choose should therefore primarily depend on the predominant area of application of the headphones. For use in sports, Bluetooth headphones should be as light as possible and not slip. For longer trips, on the other hand, a model with better sound and high wearing comfort is more suitable. When traveling on public transport, the question of the extent to which the headphones shield from the outside is not entirely irrelevant. Otherwise you run the risk that the entire train compartment will be filled with your own music.
This is how wireless headphones are used properly
The commissioning of Bluetooth headphones is very simple and usually only differs in nuances between the different models. Once the so-called “pairing” – i.e. the Bluetooth connection of the headphones with the smartphone – has been carried out, the two wireless devices connect automatically as soon as they are switched on and in close proximity to each other.
This is how easy it is to connect, for example, the new black wireless headphones from JBL to your smartphone: Switch on the Bluetooth headphones so that the Bluetooth function is activated. With some models, you may have to hold down the power button for several seconds. Flashing LED lights often indicate that the function is activated.
Activate the Bluetooth function on the mobile phone. This can usually be done directly via the fold-out upper toolbar. A tap on the characteristic Bluetooth symbol is enough.
The smartphone will now automatically search the area for active Bluetooth devices. The headphones should now also appear in the list of available devices. If you tap on the corresponding device and confirm the pairing, Bluetooth headphones and smartphone are connected.
Select and enjoy your favorite music.
By the way: If the smartphone asks for a pass code after selecting the headphones in the Bluetooth menu, this is “0000” by default on most models. Otherwise you will find it in the enclosed headphone manual.
